Reporting to the Director of Client Programs, the Senior Program Manager, Northwest will serve as a key strategic leader, spearheading Hire Heroes USA's partnerships, brand representation, client engagement, and community relationships across Washington and Oregon. This role provides oversight for the Northwest Field Team; serves as the head liaison in the community to recruit Hire Heroes USA’s clients, and furthers relationships with local military installations and other military-connected groups and local officials. 

 

This position requires a visionary approach, combining high-level strategic planning with tactical execution. The role will be instrumental in fostering cross-functional collaboration, working closely with program funders, internal teams, and diverse stakeholders to architect comprehensive strategies. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for developing expansive program scopes, defining critical deliverables, allocating resources efficiently, crafting detailed work plans, managing substantial budgets, and establishing timelines for new initiatives and grant efforts. This role will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Marketing and Communications, Operations, Capacity Building, Corporate Partnerships, and Client Services, to ensure seamless client service delivery, maintain brand consistency, and leverage organizational resources effectively.

This is a full-time, hybrid position. The Senior Program Manager must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our Federal Way, Washington area office and be on-site regularly.

Responsibilities  

Partnership Oversight

  • Spearhead strategic partnerships and program direction, developing comprehensive project plans with timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful outcomes
  • Define and communicate project goals, scope, and deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine comprehensive strategies to recruit and retain clients, leveraging data-driven insights and regional trends to maximize outreach effectiveness
  • Establish, nurture, and expand strategic relationships with military installations, veteran service organizations, government agencies, and local officials to create a robust network of support for veteran and military spouses employment initiatives
  • Manage regional budgets and resources, including forecasting, allocation, and optimization, to ensure fiscal responsibility while maximizing program effectiveness and growth potential
 

Internal Collaboration

  • Support Corporate Partnerships department in business outreach efforts, assisting with veteran and military spouses hiring initiatives, employment opportunity creation, and partnership development across diverse business scales within the region ensuring proper handoff to Corporate Partnerships team members for continued fostering and cultivation
  • Champion volunteer involvement by collaborating closely with the Volunteer Program to create diverse, meaningful opportunities for community engagement, including mentorship roles, event support, and skills-based volunteering, while ensuring volunteers feel valued and their efforts align with organizational goals and client needs and adhering to organizational policies and best practices for volunteer engagement
  • Proactively identify and pursue strategic partnership opportunities with complementary organizations, educational institutions, and government entities to expand the program's reach, enhance service offerings, increase overall impact in the region, and coordinate with appropriate internal stakeholders to advance strategic initiatives. 
 

Personnel Management 

  • Provide oversight to the Field Team, focusing on training, performance evaluations, and professional development, to ensure efficient operations and achievement of program goals 
  • Stay at the forefront of veteran and military spouses affairs, employment trends, legislative changes, and community needs through ongoing research, professional development, and active participation in relevant forums and associations, using this knowledge to continuously improve and adapt program offerings
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality
  • Support organization events and fundraisers as needed
  • Approximate travel requirement 30%
 

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, while productively and collaboratively engaging others at varying levels of seniority within and outside an organization
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or problem approaches.
  • Ability to monitor and assess the performance of self, other individuals, and organizations to make improvements and take corrective action
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects and initiatives 
  • Ability to compile and present public briefings to senior leaders
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite applications, specifically Word/Docs, PowerPoint/Slides, and Excel/Sheets
  • Proficient with Salesforce highly desired
 

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Travel 30% of the time throughout Washington and Oregon 
 

Hire Heroes USA may offer additional compensation to include annual bonuses, merit increases, cost of living, special or extra assignments outside the scope of the role, cell phone stipend, internet stipend, relocation, awards, compensatory time off, overtime, and gaining knowledge and proficiency through certifications and licensing.

 

Estimated New Hire Salary: $78,200 - $84,541 annually. This range represents base pay plus a +15% cost of living adjustment.
